I’m back at Moonlight Studios tonight putting the final touches on The Swagger Sticks new CD. We’re making some final tweaks, cleaning up some vocal tracks in ProTools, and then this bitch is in the can! The atmosphere is totally relaxed. We’re in the home stretch and everyone knows it. I’m over making this record. [...]

I was back at Moonlight Studios on 2/23/09 mixing “Worldwide Pop Star” with The Swagger Sticks, after our drum session the previous Wednesday, when I got the crazy idea of adding horns to my power pop/punk song “Worldwide Pop Star.”
I don’t know where the idea for horns came from but once I got it my head it’s all [...]

Hello everybody, The Swagger Sticks are back at Moonlight Studios today (Wednesday 2/20) and I’m blogging in real time again. Jeff Lewis is behind the soundboard and we will be recording Simon Hancock as he plays drums on four more Swagger Sticks songs. The guitars, bass, vocals etc. have already been recorded so it will just be Simon playing his signature [...]

I had a studio session over at Moonlight Studios this past Monday night and I worked on some demo tracks for my band, the The Swagger Sticks. We’re an Indie Rock band and we’re releasing our own EP sometime in March. We added a bunch of vocal tracks, mixed the drums, guitars etc. and had a very productive studio session – Jeff Lewis, our engineer/producer is just [...]

Here’s a quick studio update from The Swagger Sticks regarding our debut EP, “Stick it!” which is scheduled for release March 1st:
Today I spoke with my producer/engineer, Jeff Lewis. I’ll be back at Moonlight Studios Monday, January 12th, to polish up some vocal tracks and finish mixing the three songs we tracked drums for last week: “CCTV”, “Here Comes The Cougar” and [...]

Here is a video clip from my vocal session at Moonlight Studios last week (We did the drums earlier that same day). The song is called “Closed Circuit TeleVision” or “CCTV.”
This is a rough mix… Soooo, unlike all those MTV videos, where the singer hops in the vocal booth and everything sounds PERFECT, here’s a sneak [...]

Today we tracked drums for my upcoming EP with my new band, The Swagger Sticks. The session went absolutly awesome…my buddy Simon Hancock, the drummer on the session, did a fantastic job!
Here’s what we worked on:
“Closed Circuit TeleVision”
”Here Comes the Cougar”
“She Wants Everything”
I was a bit nervous since I’ve never had a live drummer work on any my songs [...]

Ok! I’m getting ready to do a drum session later this week with my new band, The Swagger Sticks. Up to this point I’ve recorded all my drums on Reason using Protools but I’m finally to the point where it’s time for some live drums. A buddy of mine, Simon Hancock, is an incredibly talented drummer [...]
